Microneedling at Lakeside Cosmetic Center

At Lakeside Cosmetic Center, we are proud to offer advanced microneedling treatments designed to support healthier, more radiant skin. Whether you are looking to address skin texture, tone, scarring, or the overall appearance of aging, our microneedling options can be tailored to meet your unique skin goals.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a technique that involves the introduction of fine needles through the skin. The purpose is to induce a natural inflammatory response while creating micro channels that allow active ingredients to penetrate deeply, nourishing the skin and supporting overall skin health. Studies show improvement in cell organization as well as increased collagen and elastin production.
Microneedling can help address concerns with skin tone and texture, fine wrinkles, acne scarring and some other forms of scarring, large pores, and more. This procedure works well for all skin tones.
At Lakeside Cosmetic Center, we use the SkinPen for all microneedling treatments. The SkinPen has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration and deemed safe to use.

Our Microneedling Options

Microneedling Our standard microneedling treatment uses the SkinPen to create controlled micro channels in the skin, stimulating the skin's natural repair process and supporting the infusion of active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, peptides, antioxidants, and more.

Microneedling with PRP This option combines the power of microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood. During your treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn and processed to isolate the platelet rich plasma, which is rich in growth factors and cytokines. This concentrated plasma is then applied during your microneedling session, allowing it to penetrate deeply into the skin through the micro channels created by the SkinPen. PRP activates stem cells and other cellular components, supporting the rejuvenation of the skin and promoting a healthier, more vibrant complexion.

Microneedling with PDGF Microneedling with PDGF (Platelet Derived Growth Factor) features Ariessence® Pure PDGF-BB, one of the newest and most exciting advancements in aesthetic skin rejuvenation. Unlike PRP, PDGF requires no blood draw, involves less downtime, and delivers a highly concentrated growth factor solution that is more concentrated than PRP, PRF, or exosomes. PDGF-BB contains only three ingredients, holds four FDA approvals in the therapeutic space, and has been utilized on over five million patients clinically.

PDGF may be a wonderful option for those looking to support improvements in skin texture, wrinkles, pore size, and overall skin tone, particularly in areas that may not be suitable for other treatments. As with all of our treatments, your provider will help determine whether this option is the right fit for your individual goals during your consultation.

What to Expect as a New Patient

We require all new patients to complete a consultation prior to their first microneedling appointment. This is a dedicated time for us to get to know you, review your medical history, discuss your aesthetic goals, and determine which microneedling option is the best fit for you. There is no pressure and no rush. We want you to leave feeling heard, informed, and excited.

Typically, a series of 4 to 6 treatments is recommended depending on your goals. A minimum of 6 treatments is generally suggested for acne scarring. Numbing cream is applied prior to each treatment to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

Who is Not a Candidate for Microneedling?

Microneedling may not be suitable for those who:

Have used Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last year Have open wounds, active acne outbreaks, cuts, or abrasions on the skin Have had radiation treatment to the skin within the last year Have any kind of current skin infection, condition, or herpes simplex in the area to be treated Are pregnant or breastfeeding Have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars, or a condition that causes poor wound healing.

If you have any questions about your candidacy, our team is happy to discuss them with you during your consultation.

Possible Side Effects

As with any treatment, there are some possible temporary reactions to be aware of, including bruising, skin discomfort, redness, swelling, itching, burning, and in rare cases, infection or temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. Most side effects are temporary and typically resolve within three days. Your provider will review all of this with you in detail during your consultation.
