Chemical Peels at Lakeside Cosmetic Center

At Lakeside Cosmetic Center, we offer a variety of professional chemical peels designed to address a wide range of skin concerns. Whether you are looking for a gentle refresh or a deeper resurfacing treatment, our team will work with you to determine the right peel for your skin type, goals, and lifestyle.

What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical peeling utilizes a topical agent to remove the outer layers of dead or damaged skin. As the treated skin sloughs away, it reveals smoother, healthier looking skin underneath. Chemical peels can address concerns with skin tone and texture, fine wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation, making them a wonderful option for those looking to refresh and renew their complexion.

Our Chemical Peel Options

Lighter Peels Our lighter peels are a wonderful entry point into chemical exfoliation and are ideal for those new to peels or those with more sensitive skin. These treatments offer a gentle yet effective way to brighten the complexion, improve skin texture, and support overall skin health with minimal downtime. Your provider will recommend the most appropriate peel strength and formulation based on your individual skin type and goals.

TCA Chemical Peels At Lakeside Cosmetic Center, we offer TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) chemical peels in four strengths: 10%, 15%, 20%, and 35%. TCA peels are a more advanced option that target deeper skin concerns, including uneven pigmentation, fine wrinkling, and skin texture. Depending on the strength of the peel, sloughing of the skin can last approximately 7 to 10 days as the skin works through its natural renewal process. TCA peels work best for those with lighter skin tones, Fitzpatrick skin types I through III. Typically, a series of 4 to 6 treatments is recommended depending on the goal of treatment. Your provider will help determine the most appropriate strength and series for your individual needs during your consultation.

Who is Not a Candidate for a Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels may not be suitable for those who:

  • Have used Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last year

  • Have open wounds, active acne outbreaks, cuts, or abrasions on the skin

  • Have had radiation treatment to the skin within the last year

  • Have any kind of current skin infection, condition, or herpes simplex in the area to be treated

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars, or a condition that causes poor wound healing

If you have any questions about your candidacy, our team is happy to discuss them with you during your consultation.

Possible Side Effects

As with any treatment, there are some possible temporary reactions to be aware of, including skin discomfort, redness, swelling, itching, burning, and in rare cases, infection or temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. Most side effects are temporary and typically resolve within a few days. Your provider will review all of this with you in detail during your consultation.

What to Expect as a New Patient

We require all new patients to complete a consultation prior to their first chemical peel appointment. This is a dedicated time for us to get to know you, review your medical history, assess your skin concerns, and determine which peel is the right fit for you. There is no pressure and no rush. We want you to leave feeling heard, informed, and excited about your skin journey. In many cases, we are able to perform your treatment at the time of your consultation, so you may walk away with results on the very same day.

Pricing

Pricing for chemical peels is available upon consultation. During your visit, your provider will recommend the most appropriate treatment option and provide you with transparent, straightforward pricing before any treatment begins.
